A Message from Mrs. Ormsbee
Greetings Herbison Woods Families!
The weather is warming up and we are seeing summer quickly approaching. With the spring and summer comes the warm weather. Please help your child to make decisions on their clothing in the morning that align with our district dress code. Students should avoid shorts shorts, exposed midriff, and halter style shirts. We appreciate your support with this!
The end of the year also brings many end of the year activities. Please watch the classroom newsletters for information on specific events.
The past few weeks have been busy with end of the year assessments. This week we will be wrapping up NWEA and Acadience assessments. Our students have been amazing working through these and putting forth their best effort! I am so proud of all of their hard work!
Sincerely,
Alicia Ormsbee
Principal
A Note from Mrs. Nowak
HWE Families,
We continue to find opportunities for staff to recognize all the good that happens at HWE. One way is through the Student of the Month nominations, and the other is through whole school incentives. Students have continued to work hard to earn Panther Paw awards in order to earn the right to sit anywhere they want in the cafeteria. Please ask your HWE student if their lunch has earned that privilege yet!
An important part of keeping the privilege to sit where they want is to meet the expectations in the cafeteria. Students are expected to clean up after themselves, use the time in the cafeteria to fuel their bodies, show appropriate manners, as well as socialize with those around them. By meeting the expectations, students can keep sitting by peers of choice, even if they aren't in the same class. Thank you for reminding your child to be their best selves at HWE - even in the cafeteria!
In Partnership,
Rachel Nowak
Updates from Mr. Rogers
HWE Families,
The finish line is in sight! At HWE, that brings about a lot of different emotions. We are wrapping up small groups and SEL lessons for the school year, and I continue to meet with students individually as needed. Throughout this year, I have been so impressed by the genuine care our staff display each day in serving the students at our school. I have also been encouraged by the way the students interact with each other! Watching them grow into the people they are becoming is one of my favorite parts about working at HWE. As always, it is great to be a DeWitt Panther!
Thank you,
Matt Rogers
