A Message from Mrs. Ormsbee
Greetings Herbison Woods Families!
It is hard to believe we are approaching the final three weeks of the school year! Students have done an amazing job working through our spring benchmarks and state testing. Benchmark reports will be coming home with students soon.
We have several fun events and lots of learning left as we approach the end of the school year. We will continue to review the importance of being respectful, responsible and safe with students through these last few weeks. We would appreciate your support in discussing with your child the importance of showing their best behavior and effort every day as well. We are looking forward to finishing the year strong!
Sincerely,
Alicia Ormsbee

Updates from Mr. Rogers
Hello HWE Families,
We are in the homestretch! There has been so much learning and growing for students and staff alike at HWE. We've accomplished so many things this school year! Through classroom lessons, individual meetings, small groups, and 1000 other things, I've had the opportunity to connect with every student in our school at least once. I'm so thankful for the time I've been able to spend with our staff and students. HWE is such a great community and I'm proud to be part of it!
Have a great summer!
Mr. Rogers
Lost and Found
We have many items in our lost and found. If your child is missing an item, please come check out our table in the vestibule. Items will be available until the last day of school.
Mrs. Wineland's 5th Grade Class
Students in Mrs. Wineland's class read books from the "What is...", "Who is..." series and prepared book projects to present to their class. A portion of the project was to create board games containing information they learned in their books. Students shared their board games with their classmates.
P.E. Corner - Field Day May 30
The 2024 Field Day is quickly approaching! Field Day is scheduled for May 30th with the 5th grade classes competing in the morning from 8:55-10:55, and the 4th grade classes will be competing from 1:10-3:10. Parents are welcome to come and watch the events!
In Physical Education class, students are assessing their fitness progress to show their growth from the fall. We are halfway through our testing with 3 more to go. The next 3 assessments are running assessments for agility/speed, aerobic capacity, and endurance. Please help your student remember proper running shoes during their PE rotation days.
