A Message from Mrs. Ormsbee

Greetings Herbison Woods Families!

This week at Herbison Woods, we wrapped up our NWEA and Acadience benchmark assessments.  We use this data throughout the year to help guide our classroom instruction and determine areas of need for individual students.  Reports will be coming home with students at the end of next week.

This week we also announced our January Students of the Month.  We were able to recognize 25 students for demonstrating being responsible, respectful and safe.  Students signed our Proud Panther mural in the hallway.  Congratulations to all who were recognized this month!

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Alicia Ormsbee

Principal

A Note from Mrs. Nowak

HWE Families,

Our behavior incentive is continuing and our snowmen/snowpeople are growing! That means 4th and 5th grade classrooms are being respectful, responsible and safe in all areas of the school. Make sure you encourage your HWE student to work with their class on continuing to earn Panther Paws.

Also, ask your child about our new bus loop procedure. Cones and signs are out every morning to help students be safe and get settled before they enter the building. Students are even getting to be a part of the organization, as they help bring the cones and signs in. Although it might be a small thing, but having students ready to start their day in a positive way, helps every day be more successful.

In Partnership,

Rachel Nowak

Updates from Mr. Rogers

Hello, HWE parents and families!

Happy winter, everyone! As we await the snow and cold weather that is surely coming (it IS coming, right?), a lot of exciting things are happening at HWE. We have continued with SEL lessons, which offers me the opportunity to spend time in each classroom. Small groups will be starting this month and I think we are all counting down the days until Spring Break. As always, it is great to be a HWE Panther!
