Greetings Herbison Woods Families,
It is hard to believe we are already at the end of our first trimester! Students have been working hard to make academic growth, while focusing on being respectful, responsible and safe in all areas of the school. Thank you to all of the parents/guardians who came to our conferences this past week. It was great to meet with you and share your child's academic growth and successes.
With the winter weather upon us, please help your students to make good decisions about proper indoor and outdoor winter clothing. The cooler temperatures are coming quickly, and we want to make sure students are equipped for the weather when going out to recess. Students should wear a coat outside if the temperature is 50 degrees or colder. In the winter, students will go outdoors when the termperature is above zero degrees Farenheit. Please remind your child to bring the proper gear for this weather. If you need support obtaining some of these items, please reach out to our front office. Thank you for helping your child be ready for winter.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with your children every day! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of their education.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Alicia Ormsbee
Principal
From the PTA
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first-ever Pasta for the Panthers event! We loved seeing so many families come together to share a meal and support our schools. A huge thank-you also goes out to our amazing volunteers and everyone participating in our online auction—your generosity helps make all that we do possible!
The students and staff at Herbison Woods honored our community Veterans this week at an assembly on Tuesday, November 11. Students learned about the branches of the military, shared poems, and thanked our Veterans for their service. Thank you to all of our community Veterans who joined us for our third annual Veterans Day Assembly!
Herbison Woods is hosting a Paper and Personal Care Drive to support the community.
Special Education Teacher
Mr. Bornefeld is a first year teacher who spent his summer kayaking, fishing, and getting his classroom ready for the fall. If he could master any hobby in the world it would be to become a master wood carver!
Reading Interventionist
Mrs. Brown lives in DeWitt with her family. Her goal this year is to enjoy her daughter-Kendra’s last year of college and her son-Landon’s last year of high school. Soccer rules their family.
4th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Brothers is a 4th grade teacher and mom of an energetic toddler! She loves reading and making clay earrings when she has free time. You will probably find her outside playing with her toddler and dog Zeus after school.
5th Grade Teacher
This is Logan Freer, Fifth Grade Teacher. When not at school, Mr. Freer likes to hike, read, roller blade, and play with his son Miles (the Pokemon Card Game, Legos, video games, etc.).
You can order your yearbook through Lifetouch today!
