Greetings Herbison Woods Families!
It is hard to believe we are approaching the final three weeks of the school year! Students have done an amazing job working through our spring benchmarks and state testing. Benchmark reports will be coming home with students soon.
We have several fun events and lots of learning left as we approach the end of the school year. We will continue to review the importance of being respectful, responsible and safe with students through these last few weeks. We would appreciate your support in discussing with your child the importance of showing their best behavior and effort every day as well. We are looking forward to finishing the year strong!
Sincerely,
Alicia Ormsbee
Principal
HWE Families,
They did it! We are so proud of our 4th and 5th graders for powering through all of the Spring testing. We saw students putting forth their best effort, taking their time and being really thoughtful about showing what they have learned this year. Regardless of the end test results, it is important to debrief with your HWE student about the skills used to complete tests. Focus, attention, perseverance and stamina are all characteristics that students have to show when doing tests.
Talk with your HWE student about how they showed determination and stamina in the MSTEP. Discuss what areas on NWEA challenged them, and what felt successful. These conversations are helpful ways for our HWE students to see the connection between the effort they put in on difficult tasks and the outcome they get. We are proud of our HWE students!
In Partnership,
Rachel Nowak
